There are many ways to prepare a good cup of coffee but there are also a lot of different types of coffee drinks that you can find in a cafe. You can order it with milk, cream, liqueur or water. It’s for this reason we decided to do a list of some of the most popular types of coffee you can drink around the world.
Espresso: Italian coffee. It’s small, strong and black. A well-made espresso has a heavy body, a rich texture and a bittersweet taste.
Americano: American coffee. It’s composed by an espresso and two cups of water. It has the subtle aroma of espresso with a lighter body and less bitterness
Caffè macchiato or café au lait: French coffee. An espresso with some milk in it
Kahve: Turkish coffee. It’s served in a special pot known as ‘cezve’. Sometimes an aromatic spice, called cardamom, is added to this coffee
Melange Coffee: Austrian coffee. An espresso topped with whipped cream
Irish Coffee: it was invented by Limerick chef Joseph Sheridan in 1942 to welcome Americans visiting Ireland. It’s an espresso with the addition of Irish whiskey and Irish cream
English Coffee: An espresso mixed to gin, triple sec and the coffee liqueur kahlua
Jamaica Coffee: an espresso with some rum and water, topped with whipped cream
Russian Coffee: it’s coffee with vodka, Kahlua coffee liqueur, a liqueur called Amaretto, whipped cream and sugar
Indian Coffee: it’s also known as Filter Coffee. It’s a sweet milky coffee made from dark roasted coffee beans and chicory. Its name derives by a filter, used to prepare it, called Filter Coffee or Drip Coffee
